Marketing Strategies for Trade Shows and Business Events

A major part of any trade show or meeting is the use of ID badges to identify authorized members, as well as allowing attendees to easily identify each other. Because of this, a poorly designed name tag can damage the experience for attendees and hosts alike, making an effective ID badge design imperative.

Effective Tools of Name Tag Design

By using custom ID printers to quickly create unique designs, an event or company can focus on what works best for them, as opposed to being trapped into purchasing generic name tags. When focusing on the design, the designer should focus on the appearance and message, striving for a look that can be immediately distinguished from other cards.

Creating a Unique Appearance

A name tag should have a unique appearance that immediately creates a positive impression. A large, easily noticeable company logo using strong primary colors that enhance the design is a good choice. A designer should avoid the temptation to fill the tag up with detailed patterns that will be difficult to decipher, as the point of a name tag is to quickly get its message across in an unmistakable manner.

By using ID printers, the designer can create a number of different name tag designs, in order to distinguish between professions. For example, a computer trade show might use unique card designs for technical representatives, managers, and sales representatives.

Identifying the Wearer

When creating the text that will identify the wearer and his or her organization, the designer should avoid overly complex fonts in favor of simpler fonts like Times New Roman, which can be read quickly and at a distance. The font color should also be distinct from the background of the card.

In addition, the text might include the wearer’s company, web address, or convention location. However, the text must be kept simple and easily readable, rather than overly complex.

Other Uses for Name Tags

Name tags can be used for a variety of different purposes beyond identification. With high speed ID printers, it is possible to print up variant designs to identify individuals who have signed up for a company promotion, providing a perfect method of drumming up interest and advertising a product or service on the convention floor.

A name tag is one of the best ways to make a positive first impression. By creating a legible, attractive and unique design, a company can effectively promote their product and services via the use of ID badges. When coupled with the use of ID printers to quickly and effectively print up any number of name tag badges, the use of unique badges becomes a winning strategy.

“I Love My Ducks” T Shirts Popular with Oregon Fans

An Oregon themed rap song has spun into a popular t shirt for Rose Bowl bound Oregon fans. The ‘I Love My Ducks’ t-shirts have been flying off the shelves at local stores around Eugene Oregon. The shirts are inspired by a rap song produced by Bishop, Brian McAndrew, and Jamie Slade. The three journalism students were surprised by the popularity of their song and now their t shirts. Developed by SupWitchuGirl, the shirts were worn during the recently played Civil War game between Oregon and Oregon State.

Four thousand were sold the first day and ten thousand were sold the second day the shirts were available. They can be purchased online if need be at UODuckStore.com. The rap group makes $2 on every shirt that is sold. The group was able to get the shirts approved by the university and had all the production performed by a company that has a long standing contract with UO. The rap artists and shirt designer are hoping to profit enough from the sales to go to the Rose Bowl this coming January.
